“After the sad loss of two of our three elderly Pembroke Welsh Corgis early this year, my family was looking forward to bringing a puppy into our home. We researched many breeds and decided a Goldendoodle would be a great fit for us. My husband had one stipulation… we would have to take her to a professional dog trainer. I have raised many family dogs since I was a child and never used the services of a professional trainer. Golden Rule Dog Training was recommended to me through our vet and after learning about Elaine’s method online I was excited to meet her. I was very interested in training our new puppy, Boodles, with positive training methods rather than through “rough hands” type training. Boodles and my family have learned so much from Elaine. We have a relationship with our dog that is based on trust, respect and affection. Boodles does what is requested of her (most of the time!) because she wants to please, not because she is afraid of a reprimand. Elaine also taught me that we can train our family dog to fit our lifestyle, whether it’s only being allowed in the pool or on the furniture when she’s invited, or helping Boodles adjust to our schedules and activities so she can participate and accompany us when we’re out. It was great to have Elaine come to our home to train. It allowed us to address behaviors specific to our home, indoors and out. Training Boodles is fun when I know it will be a positive interaction. And our Corgi, Daisy, is much happier with a well mannered pup in the house.

“Working with Elaine and Golden Rule Dog Training was a breeze. She came to help us with our newly rescued Bullmastiff, Hoss. We rescued him from a local group at 1 and a half years old and he had been kept in a kennel and did not have very good (if any) house manners. We saw her for 4 weeks and Hoss seems like a completely different dog now! She is very easy to work with and was very flexible with our crazy schedule! After each session she gave us homework for the following week, very simple things and it really helped when it came to the next lesson. She opened our eyes to new techniques when trying to communicate with him. She started with the basic things, sit, down, come...and somehow taught him that counter surfing and eating the kitten are NOT ok. :) Overall we had an excellent experience with Elaine and would most definitely recommend her to anyone who was in the market for a trainer.”
